Hericium Erinaceus (Lion’s Mane, Old Man’s Beard) growing up high in a hole in a tree along Maple Trail, Lighthouse Park, West Vancouver, BC. This mature specimen was between 12 and 16 inches across when discovered in mid-October. It remained safely out of reach for about another 6 weeks before succumbing to age and the winter cold and rain.
